Rebecca’s Fund - Art for Children of the Wet Mountain Valley was founded in the memory of Rebecca
Samuelson to combine several of her passions: children, art and our beautiful Valley. Rebecca’s Fund
provides funding to promote visual arts through art education, experiences, and scholarships with the
emphasis on children and young adults in the Wet Mountain Valley of Custer County, CO.
Since our inception in 2018, Rebecca’s Fund has provided support for classes, workshops, and summer art camps for hundreds of children of all ages. From our preschool art program to summer art camps, our funding opens doors for young artists to express themselves, enjoy art and hone their skills. We have sponsored multiple workshops and funded equipment and supplies for high school aged artists.
One of the most impactful events happens when Rebecca’s Fund partners with Custer County School to host amazing, world class visiting artists, who spend days interacting with many student artists of all ages.
That experience is followed by an annual excursion of middle and high school students to museums in cities like Denver or Santa Fe. For many students, this field trip has been the highlight of their high school career.
We are very excited about the future for Rebecca’s Fund. We know that art can be a passion and a
talent, but it can also be a form of therapy and solace for kids today and the adults they will become.
Thank you for helping us continue to bring art to the children of Custer County.
